Are you ready for Cosmania?

By : Unknown
Yo, what's up? It's me, again. Your one and only Senpai and I'm back to ask if you'll be attending the Cosplay Mania this upcoming October 4-5, 2014 at the SMX Convention Centre. Then let's get started. First, let me ask, will it be your first time attending a con or are you a long-time patron of events? What will be your role attending the convention? Will it be as Cosplayer? Con-goer? Photographer? So let's get this thing under way. Let me tell you what are some of the proper etiquette during conventions.

No matter what you'll be doing, here are some con etiquettes and unspoken rules during conventions that you need to remember.

  • Cosplay is not Consent
Here we are. One of most overlooked unspoken rule during events. It is not allowed to touch Cosplayers without their consent. Just because a Cosplayer is wearing a revealing outfit, does not give you permission to harassed them. Most Cosplayers are willing to go the extra mile, in order to be accurate with the character they're portraying. Learn to appreciate aesthetics and sophistry.

  • Do not Litter
Keep the place clean. You're not the only attendee, so throw your trash in the designated locations. Obeying the rules, is another form of supporting the event. No one likes a messy event area. Always be observant of how to conduct yourselves.

  • Never Discriminate
One of the most controversial topics during events. Never discriminate against another person. Don't judge someone based on what you want to see. Don't insult another person's hard work. If you think you are better than someone else then keep it to yourself. Always remember, YOU are not perfect.

  • Keep Proper Decorum
Respect the people around you. There are designated places for you to loiter and stay, do not crowd the walkways and other places not assigned for said activity. Always remain civil, there is a difference between enjoying the event from being rowdy and a nuisance. Remember you might like it, but others might find it distasteful. So keep calm and remain civilized.

  • Be Mindful of your Belongings
There will always be shady people anywhere you go. Keep your mind intact and stable. It's fine to enjoy the event, but do not get overwhelmed that you lose track of your surroundings, and what's happening. Keep your belongings safe.

  • Have FUN
No one likes a spoilsport. It's an event, so loosen up and enjoy yourself. Take photos with Cosplayers, try the food stalls and merchandise booths, socialize with everyone you meet, participate in the games and/or challenges.

Well, that's about what I can share. Remember this tips and your experience will surely be something to remember. Always have fun but keep yourself in moderation.
