Oh, hello there. It's me again. Your Senpai. The 2014 Best of Anime is over and now it's time I tell you my thoughts and break down everything that happened. Sounds great? Yeah, let's do this.

  • Day 1
For starters, let's talk about the no-ticket, no-entry policy that never came to fruition. Let's get real here, that would be really hard to implement, especially when your having another event in the same venue. People have their own ways of entering the SMX Convention Centre. Let's not get into details but let's just say that being a hunter has it's priviledges. Well, I don't really know. It was just my observation during the event, people will always find a way. Let's not dwell on it too much. The event went under way without a hitch. There was an absence of a large crowd thanks to the aforementioned policy but, it was enjoyable nonetheless. What we expected was a full-packed, hot function room but what we got was a spacious and cold one instead, it was great. Of course there was a part of me that was lonely since it was not as lively as I thought it would be but a part of me was also grateful since there were no rowdy people that take up too much space.

On to the event proper. Honestly, I don't know what to tell you since I didn't really come for the event per se but for the enjoyment of meeting friends and acquaintances that share the same passion as me. Cosplayers attend events expecting to get their picture taken but it was different for us, because what we asked for was their signature(Of course, we took our photos with them.). We spent the whole day looking for people we know asking for their signatures. It was a very fun experience, it was a first for most of them since not many people actually do that stuff. The smiles on their face when we ask for their signatures was priceless. It was a very fulfilling experience, It was something new for them and for us, as well. We even got to meet one of our cosplay idols(Liui Aquino). Well, that's about it. We basically just had fun with our friends and the day ended with us looking forward to what's going to happen tomorrow and who we will meet.

  • Day 2
Now this is the part where it gets a little more fun. We entered the SMX Convention Centre. So what did we do the whole day? Nothing that different from Day 1 except for the fact that we stayed outside the event area for most of the day. Did it hinder our fun? Not really, because it was a time I spent with my friends, so it was really fun. Always remember that having fun does not depend on how much money you spend, or the places you go to but depends on the people you spend it with.

Here's the exciting part of our Day 2 memories. We entered the event area near it's closing time, because we know for a fact that stores usually give discounts and offers at that time. Thanks to that, we got to meet Liui Aquino, again. But not as a cosplayer, but an ordinary con-goer. It was great, he was very kind and humble. He fulfilled a lot of request we had and we even got to have a picture with him as a group. But that's not all, what do you know, we even got a signature from the one and only, Joe Inoue. It was probably one of the fondest memory we have about the event.

Well, that's pretty much how my Best of Anime experience went and past. How about you? Did you also attend the event? Or did you stay at home, getting ready for the next big cosplay event? Whatever it is, the only question that matters is "Did you have fun?". That's about sums up my weekend. That's all. Oh! See you at Cosmania on October 4-5, 2014. But if you can't wait that long, there is also an event at SM Manila on September 27 or you could go to SM Megamall on September 27-28. Whatever you choose, there will always be something fun to do. Keep safe and take care. Let's meet each other someday.
